Waking up

The sun greets the sky and earth, radiant yet humble. Its light fills the land along with my heart. It resonates with an ancient lock deep within my mind, signaling its time to open up.

The birds chirping fills the air, like a soft chorus of trumpets, and the rustling of leaves joins in their percussion. A blanket of sound that warms my soul, though the air around me is crisp with night’s residue.

A buzz fills the air, ambient and almost imperceptible. The bumblebees are already hard at work, a long day of labor ahead of them, but I hear no complaints. The wind kisses my cheek, sharp with a little bite, but gentle nonetheless; a soft caress.

Every creature and living thing, carrying out their special sequence, confident but not boastful. They know who they are simply because they don’t question it. A sight so radiant and joyful that occasionally even the moon lingers to witness its grandeur. It’s as if nature is showing off, though I doubt she intends to.

And as the sun goes down, the stars tuck me in. I can’t help but smile, wondering if they did this all for me.
