Intellect

To know without understanding,
When presumed notions mask immediate experience.
To hear without listening,
When the loaded response is too noisy.
To see without perceiving,
When the eyes are clouded by assumptions.
To be confident without humility,
When certainty covers up clarity.
To touch without feeling,
When sensation is dulled by distraction.
To talk without communicating,
When words become weapons instead of bridges.
To think without wisdom,
When knowledge accumulates but insight is absent.
To name without recognizing being,
When we interact with labels instead of essence.
To be awake without being aware,
When the mind is preoccupied.
To have a mind without being mindful,
These are the blind spots; the prison of intellect.
I know, that is why I don’t.
Do you?
