Surrender

All great sages and teachers

Point us towards a singular aim.

And while the paths may look diverse,

They essentially merge into one lane.

Surrender isn’t a last resort,

When other options seem ineffective.

Surrender is an open door,

To step through into new perspective.

Surrender isn’t a magic trick,

to make bad emotions disappear.

Surrender is an invitation,

To seat sorrow next to cheer.

Surrender isn’t admitting defeat,

And succumbing to despair.

It’s the bending of the bamboo reed,

With a strength beyond compare.

No matter what surrender isn’t,

Let’s focus on what is–

Surrender is our sacred path

To bring lasting inner peace.

Surrender is our way back home,

A walk with God in effortless ease.
