The Grand Experiment

In halls where assuredness is expected,
I tread the hidden path of scientific expedition.
Without the chains of rigid certitude,
I venture forth, embracing the unknown.
Through trials where success and failure blend,
Each outcome adds a new color to the palette.
I chart the paths where others fear to tread,
Recording all—the triumphs and the flaws.
For where errors fall, wisdom blooms,
And paradox reveals the hidden laws.
Free of intention and pursuit of “eureka,”
Observations quietly yield, “hmm, that’s strange...”
With curiosity as my compass,
I find delight in every new surprise.
The unexpected turns become my guide,
Illuminating roads to truth behind disguise.
And every puzzle piece that doesn’t fit,
Lends itself to a new one,
Or a new puzzle.
A scientist doesn’t create out of thin air,
They clearly identify reality already there.
Failure takes its rightful place as a professor
Of life, one of our greatest teachers.
And data collected is never right or wrong,
It just is.
For in the spirit of science,
All data is good data.
We enjoy all twists and turns,
and life becomes a testing ground—
A forum where our questions get answered
With more questions.
A good experiment isn’t interested
in pursuing a pre ordained outcome,
Because discovering truth is more important
Than proving a point.
Recognizing: everything that happens
Is just data, in service of the
Grand Experiment.
