Walking each other home

(Played to “Your Hand in Mine,” by Explosions in the Sky)

In this mortal coil, we wander alone,

Each a solitary soul, a seed once sown.

Yet through the polarity of love and strife,

We find our hands entwined, a sacred rite.

Slow steps we take, a rhythm soft and true,

As we guide each other, our spirits renew.

A false crescendo, a pause in the dance,

Then onward, upward, our souls take a chance.

For we are not alone, though divided we seem,

Bound by a higher truth, a shared sacred dream.

The earth is not a cold dead place, we know,

But a garden of Eden where our spirits can flow.

Together we journey, hand in hand, heart to heart,

Walking each other home, never far apart.

In the One we find solace, in the Many, our joy -

This is the Life that death cannot destroy.
